What Post RN BSN is
According to the Pakistan Nursing Council curriculum, Post RN BSN is a 2-year, 4-semester, 60-credit programme for diploma-level Registered Nurses. It is placed at Level 6 (undergraduate degree) under HEC guidelines. PNMC lists it as a 2-year degree programme, separate from the 4-year Generic BSN. What employers commonly ask for
- A valid PNMC registration in almost every nursing advertisement.
- A specified number of years of post-qualification experience for senior posts.
- For units such as NICU, a relevant specialty and clinical experience in critical care.
- For government posts, age limits, domicile and pay scale that are set separately in each advertisement.
Study path: diploma to degree to MSN
- Registered Nurse with diploma qualifications and PNMC registration.
- One year of experience as an RN, then Post RN BSN (2 years).
- One year of experience as an RN after Post RN BSN.
- Master in Nursing (MSN, 2 years) at a recognised institution.
