Title            :         Senior Elective Nursing Management (Planning)
Course No.  :         726
Time            :         1 (6 weeks)
Placement   :         Year-II, Semester-II (Overall Semester – IV)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to assist student in gaining an understanding of management processes and provide practicing nurses with information and skills which can be adapted into administrative roles.

Course Objectives:
At the end of this course, the student will be able to:
1.     Define management and its functions.
2.     Differentiate between management and nursing practice skills.
3.     Develop an action plan using a planning cycle model.
4.     Discuss the relationship between a unit’s purpose, philosophy, goals and policies.
5.     Discuss the types of budget.
6.     Demonstrate the process of planning a nursing budget in relation to staffing and resources.
7.     Discuss the relationship between planning and effective time managements.

Teaching Learning Strategies:
Lecture, discussion, and small group sessions will be used as teaching leaning strategies.
